Braised Pork Steak in Cream

Ingredients

2   tbsp   MAGNOLIA GOLD BUTTER UNSALTED
1/2   kg   MONTEREY PORK STEAK, sliced
1/4   tsp   iodized fine salt
1/4   tsp   pepper
2   tbsp   MAGNOLIA NUTRI-OIL
1/2   cup   chopped onions
1-1/2   cups   chicken or pork stock
1/2   tsp   dried thyme or 4 fresh thyme sprigs
1 (250 mL)   pack   MAGNOLIA ALL-PURPOSE CREAM

Procedure

<[if !supportLists]>1.      <[endif]>Melt butter in a skillet. Season pork with salt and pepper. Sear* pork until browned on both sides, about 3 minutes per side. Remove from heat and transfer to a plate.

<[if !supportLists]>2.      <[endif]>In the same skillet, sauté onions until tender. Over medium heat, return pork and all its juices in the skillet.

<[if !supportLists]>3.      <[endif]>Add stock and thyme. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and let simmer, covered about 45 minutes.

<[if !supportLists]>4.      <[endif]>Once pork is tender and stock is reduced to half, add cream and whisk until sauce thickens.

 

*Sear: the surface of the food is cooked at high temperature
